IPPAG summer meeting in the Czech Republic
12 October 2012
IPPAG’s Czech member IMI Partner (www.imi.cz) were the proud hosts of IPPAG’s 2012 summer meeting from August 30th to September 2nd.
IPPAG Cooperative members meet up three times a year: during the PSI fair in Dusseldorf at the beginning of the year, during the Canton and Hong Kong fairs in April, and then in one of their members countries at the end of August / beginning of September. In previous years, the members have enjoyed productive meetings and cultural insights in host countries such as the Finland, US, Holland, and Turkey, to name but a few. With its 26 member countries, over the years, IPPAG members have circled the globe more than once!
The meetings in the Czech Republic certainly lived up to expectations: with a combination of work sessions focusing on current IPPAG projects, shared case stories and member presentations, and a focus on CSR and IPPAG’s Responsible Sourcing Platform, with guest speakers from Global CSR (www.global-csr.com specialised in creating sustainable solutions for private companies, public authorities and organisations), as well as IPPAG’s partner suppliers: PF Concept and Giving BV. In addition, a workshop was held with local suppliers: giving members great insight into the potential of the Czech Republic in their supply chain.
The group were also able to visit IMI impressive offices and warehousing facilities in Brno: the company operates as a distributor / wholesaler and has developed its own in-house brands: Schwarzwolf outdoor gear and Vanilla Season design items.
Events were rounded off with some well-deserved entertainment, which always provides an opportunity for fellow members to continue to interact, but in a more relaxed atmosphere: with a tour of a traditional brewery, typical Czech meals and festivities, and a Segway tour of old Prague.
